Having only used the drill a handful of times since eventually acquiring it. I've not had a full chance to test its limits. Breeze block/Cinder block: Hammer/rotary action just glides though (to the other bedroom as it turned out) like it wasn't there. Standard Victorian red brick, NOT the newer loose packed cheaper brick on modern builds. Hammer/Rotary action, eases a hole big enough for a 2" x 8 in a few seconds (around 3 or 4). handles a 12mm x450mm long bit with ease going through inner outer walls with ease, the 16mm takes a gentle easing through. 20mm, take your time and she'll work though in a minute. I tried a 25mm though some mortar on a job yesterday, my advice, don't. This adequately tested the safety cut out feature. Fairly light weight, but slightly more bottom heavy than the Dewalt SDS she is replacing (1st generation of this kind), but packs a bit more of a punch. The 5.0ah batteries have cured the world energy crisis, I'm still on the first battery despite my working week commentary above, and drilled 7 more holes this evening fitting a security camera to the house with no signs of slowing. The LED appears bright enough, but not had a chance to "in a cellar distribution board change" test it out yet. The box, is your bog standard affair these things come in, no frills does the job, room for a handful of SDS bits in there, I will be swapping it into the tough stack box I previously own. Would recommend TL;DR version: Slightly bottom heavy but light enough, powerful, loooong battery life, case is nothing to write about.

Great SDS drill and quality product. More powerful than my old Bosch 18v. Good value for money. Reliability? Time will tell.

This is my second drill of this type it's a real workhorse

Gulps through batteries, but has had a hard start in life 50+ 18mm x 250mm holes in solid concrete in an area with zero power supply

This is a powerful tool and works well - there seems to be a soft start that allows you to centre the hole before the percussion kicks in

It’s a great drill that with the battery power gets all those awkward jobs done very easily

Cracking drill, comes with 2 x 5ah batteries and dcb115 charge in tstack case. My corded Mikita has been resigned to plaster mixing duties now. Worth checking around as I first pressed the trigger on this at screwfix for £449 😳, then saw FFX price and cancelled the screwfix order. 16mm hole through double brick wall no problemo. Very happy with it.

I am restoring an old house and frequently have to drill into brick and stone. A normal hammer drill is slow and inefficient, but the DeWalt SDS drill effortlessly drills into anything. Compared to mains-powered SDS drills it is quiet being relatively light, very easy to handle. It is comfortable to use and the anti-vibration system makes control of it easy. I have had it a couple of weeks and used it frequently, but can’t comment on long-term life, but it is well built and appears sturdy. With 2 x 5AH batteries, I believe it represents awesome value for money.

Brilliant till really powerful

An excellent and essential piece of kit if you are fixing anchor bolts in masonry, without the need for trailing leads. This machine replaced my Dewalt 24V SDS (NI-CAD) unit which lasted 9 years on the same two batteries. The new battery design using Lithium Ion (LI-ION) technology not only makes the package lighter and well balanced to handle when drilling at arms length but battery life is much greater too, giving more holes drilled between charges and without the memory affect that the older NI-CAD technology suffered. This tool is also great for light chiseling for chasing out walls for cable containment using the rotary stop function. This unit meets every expectation I had at purchase and delivers the punch and performance of my old trusty 24V model. Highly recommend this product

Great product. Very pleased so far although not really put it through it’s paces yet, but well made and very light for this type of drill.

This drill is epic. I’ve tried everyone else’s tools at work and in my eyes they don’t even compare to this. It’s light, even with a 5.0Ah battery on its well balanced and it drills without any effort, single handed! There’s hardly any vibration through the grip either and it has that proper ‘hammer action’ drill with a soft start. It comes with 2 x 5.0Ah batteries, suffice for a days hard drilling and a charger that takes around 30mins? (Can’t remember). It’s all packaged in a t-stack case that has a foam inset with room for my combi drill too! Superb value for money
